Advent Music from Hungary December 9, 2018 by admin Our next #lwfadvent calendar video takes us to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hungary (Magyarországi Evangélikus Egyház). The choir of the Evangelical-Lutheran Theological University in Budapest introduces the Hungarian folk song version “O come, o come Redeemer” based on the 17th century German hymn “O Heiland, reiß die Himmel auf”. The choir of the University is directed by Church Music lecturers Gergely Finta and Anikó Fekete. Veronika Bősze sings solo, Sándor Győrffy plays the recorder, Baldó Wächter the cajon. During this Advent season, LWF member churches share hymns to show how the Lutheran communion prepares for Christ’s coming into this world.
