Gathering

Welcome and Land Acknowledgement:

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Confession and Forgiveness:

God of Wisdom,

we confess the foolishness of our ways,

and our failure to follow you in your paths of right relationships –

with you and with others.

We have gone astray; we feel lost.

We have upheld our own interests first, to the detriment of others.

We have failed to be generous with the poor,

and abandoned our efforts to bring about justice.

We feel the strain of our struggle, God.

have mercy on us according to your steadfast love.

Wash us anew

and help us to live more faithfully.

We seek your unfailing Holy Spirit

and ask for your guiding hand on our lives.

You are the immortal, invisible One;

to you be honour and glory forever; amen.

Gathering Hymn: ELW 777 Come to Me, All Pilgrims Thirsty

Kyrie: p.203

Prayer of the Day:

Let us pray together the prayer of the day,

God may we be blessed with your spirits healing touch this day, and may we see the beauty in all people so that we may share your healing compassion throughout the world. Be with us as we join together in care and love today. Amen.

Word

First Reading: Hebrews 13:1-8

Response to Reading: Word of God, Word of life, Thanks be to God.

Psalm: 147: (Read Responsively)

Praise the Lord!
How good it is to sing praises to our God,
 for he is gracious, and a song of praise is fitting.
The Lord builds up Jerusalem;
    he gathers the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted
    and binds up their wounds.
He determines the number of the stars;
    he gives to all of them their names.

The Lord lifts up the downtrodden;
   he casts the wicked to the ground.

Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
    make melody to our God on the lyre.

He covers the heavens with clouds,
    prepares rain for the earth,
    makes grass grow on the hills.

He gives to the animals their food
    and to the young ravens when they cry.
His delight is not in the strength of the horse
    nor his pleasure in the speed of a runner,[a]
but the Lord takes pleasure in those who love him,
   in those who hope in his steadfast love.

Gospel Acclamation: Halle, Halle, Hallelujah ELW#172 (sung through twice)

Gospel: Luke 13:10-17

Response: Glory to you, O Lord.

Response to Reading: The Gospel of the Lord, Praise to you, O Christ.

Sermon:

Hymn of the Day:  ELW 612 Healer of our Every Ill.

Order of Healing

Prayers of Intercession:

Response to “Lord in your Mercy:” Hear Our Prayer.

Laying on of Hands:

Prayer: Let us pray,

Living God, through the laying on of hands, grant comfort in suffering to all who are in need of healing. When they are afraid, give them courage; when afflicted, give them patience; when dejected, give them hope; and when alone, assure them of the support of your holy people.  We ask this through Christ our Saviour. Amen.

ELW #232 – Let my Prayer Rise Up.

Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father in Heaven hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom Come, your will be done, On Earth as in Heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, Now and forever, Amen.

Thanksgiving for the Word

O God of justice and love, we give thanks that you illumine our way through like with words of your son.  Give us the light we need, awaken us to the needs of others and at the end, bring all the world into your feast; that through Jesus Christ our Saviour, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honour and glory forever.Amen.
