ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thanksgiving for Baptism:

We give you thanks, O God,

for in the beginning your Spirit moved over the waters

and by your Word you created the world, calling forth life in which you took delight. Through the waters of the flood, you delivered Noah and his family. Through the sea you led your people Israel from slavery into freedom. At the river, your Son was baptized by John and anointed with the Holy Spirit. By Water and your word, you claim us as daughters and sons, making us heirs of your promise and servants of all.

Gathering Hymn: ELW 525 You Are Holy

Prayer of the Day:

Holy God, you confound the world’s wisdom in giving your kingdom to the lowly and the pure in heart. Give us such a hunger and thirst for justice, and perseverance in striving for peace that in our words and deeds the world may see the life you son Jesus, Amen.

Psalm: 15 (Read Responsively)

O Lord, who may abide in your tent?
    Who may dwell on your holy hill?

Those who walk blamelessly and do what is right
    and speak the truth from their heart;
who do not slander with their tongue
    and do no evil to their friends
    nor heap shame upon their neighbors;
in whose eyes the wicked are despised
    but who honor those who fear the Lord;
who stand by their oath even to their hurt;

who do not lend money at interest
    and do not take a bribe against the innocent.

Those who do these things shall never be moved.
