Members and Friends of Faith:

Many people use the season of Lent to pay extra-special attention to their spirituality.  Churches often help us to do this through mid-week gatherings of worship, prayer, or education.

I would like to draw your attention to two possible mid-week activities taking place online on Wednesday evenings through Lent this year and invite you to participate in one of them.

The first is one I mentioned to you about a week ago entitled “You’re Not Who You Think You Are: Lent and the New You,” featuring Pastor David Maginley and made available to us by Peace Lutheran Church in Pickering.  Pastor Maginley, an ELCIC pastor, is a four-time cancer survivor and has written a book on the science of spirituality. The series will take place via Zoom on each Wednesday evening of Lent.  You can find out more information about this series here: https://us17.campaignarchive.com/u=d5e56632889b5dce16808ff34&id=6aef862816

The second, also taking place on Zoom, is Holden Evening Prayer being made available to us by the folks of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church in Etobicoke.  If you’ve ever participated in Holden Evening Prayer then you know how beautiful and moving this melodic musical setting of Evening Prayer is.  If not, I encourage you to check it out.  Information and Zoom link can be found here: http://www.stphilipstoronto.com/lent-evening-prayer/

However you are enhancing your Lenten journey this year, I wish you peace and joy.

Pastor Brian
