ANNOUNCEMENTS

Call to Worship: Come, Now is the Time to Worship (See Insert)

Confession and Forgiveness:

God of Mercy and Forgiveness,

We confess that our selfish ways still have a hold upon us.

We have harmed your good creation.

We have failed to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with you.

Turn us in a new direction.

Show us the path that leads to life. Be our refuge and strength on the journey,

Through Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and friend

Amen.

Gathering Hymn: Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing ELW 807

Prayer of the Day:

Let us pray together the prayer of the day.

God of mercy and compassion, you lead us back to you when we are lost. Preserve us in your loving care so that we may follow your path when you guide us. Through our saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.

Psalm: 51 (Read Responsively)

Have mercy on me, O God,
    according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy,
    blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
    and cleanse me from my sin.

You desire truth in the inward being;[a]
    therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
    wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Let me hear joy and gladness;
    let my crushed bones rejoice.
Hide your face from my sins,
    and blot out all my iniquities.

Create in me a clean heart, O God,
    and put a new and right[b] spirit within me.
