ALL SAINTS SUNDAY

All Saints Sunday by Helga Sen
All Saints Sunday by Helga Sen

Artist: Helga Sen

Welcome and ANNOUNCEMENTS

Kyrie: Pg. 184 ELW

Thanksgiving for Baptism:

Joined to Christ in the waters of Baptism, we are clothed with God’s mercy and forgiveness. Let us Give Thanks for the gift of baptism.

We give you thanks O God, for in the beginning, you created us and placed us in a well-watered garden. In the desert, you promised pools of water for the parched, and you gave us water from the rock. When we did not know the way, you sent the Good Shepherd to lead us to still waters. On this day, you shower us again with the water of life.

Gathering Hymn: Shall we Gather at the River ELW 423

Prayer of the Day:

Let us pray together the prayer of the day.

Almighty God, you have knit your people together in one communion through your son. Grant us grace to follow the blessed saints in loves of faith and compassion, and to know the joys you have prepared for all in the time of rekindled relationships. We pray in Jesus Name,

Amen.

Word

First Reading: Daniel 7:1-3,15-18

Response to Reading: Word of God, Word of life, Thanks be to God.

Psalm 149 (Read Responsively)

Sing to the Lord a new song,
    his praise in the assembly of the faithful.
Let Israel be glad in its Maker;
    let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.

Let them praise his name with dancing,
    making melody to him with tambourine and lyre.
For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;
    he adorns the humble with victory.
Let the faithful exult in glory;
    let them sing for joy on their couches.

Gospel Acclamation:  This is the Air I Breathe.

This is the air I breathe; this is the air I breathe,

your holy presence living in me.

This is my daily bread, this is my daily bread,

your holy word spoken in me.

And I, I’m desperate for you. And I, I’m lost without you.

This is the air I breathe; this is the air I breathe.

Gospel: Luke 6:20-22, 27-31

Response: Glory to you, O Lord.

Response to Reading: The Gospel of the Lord, Praise to you, O Christ.

Sermon:

Remembrance of All Saints:

Let us remember all the saints before God.

We praise and bless you, O Holy Trinity. You have taught your church that it is an ageless communion of saints. We thank you for gathering those who have gone before. Prepare a place for us among those who are already with you. Help us remember them as an encouragement to live compassionately, inviting us to love, in anticipation of an eternal reunion. With them we praise and bless you.
